This Blog Is Dedicated To The Memory Of My Beloved Sister, Lynn
I created this blog in 2006 especially for my dear older sister, Lynn, who lived in Montana, in order for her to see pictures of what I was growing and doing in the garden here in Mississippi. Lynn became seriously ill in recent years and was unable to visit Mississippi very often, so this blog was my way of keeping her updated. Sadly Lynn passed away on 9-27-07 at age 66, but in my heart I know she is in a better place and free from her years of pain and suffering. Tomorrow, 2-12-08, is her birthday, and I am posting one of her last photos as a tribute to her memory.

Very nice of you to pay tribute to your sister's memory by doing this post. She must have been very special to you.
I think the sentiment that you expressed here is so touching. It is hard to lose those we love. I dedicated a section of my garden in memory of my dad. It does help when you are able to do something positive, like your blog, to remember them.
Even though it's been a few months, I'm sorry for your loss, Jon. This is a wonderful tribute that brought tears to my eyes by its graceful words. We have a memory garden where we plant various shrubs and trees in memory of others. Have you done that too?
Hi Jon, Than you for your tribute to our sweet Lynn. What a treasure she is. I know you love her dearly as do I. Yes, it is wonderful to know where she is and the peace she has now. Thank you for our conversations. Thank you for your continuous support. David

"The world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers and cities; but to know someone here and there who thinks and feels with us, and though distant, is close to us in spirit, this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden." --Goethe

A Quote from Henry Mitchell's, The Essential Earthman
"Gardening is a long road, with many detours and way stations, and here we all are at one point or another. It's not a question of superior or inferior taste, merely a question of which detour we are on at the moment. Getting there (as they say) is not important; the wandering about in the wilderness or in the olive groves or in the bayous is the whole point."
