Tacca Chantrieri....The Bat Plant

Hunter does not have bats in his attic but he does grow this exotic Bat Plant in his garden in St. Petersburg, Florida. Left double click this picture with your mouse to enlarge it and see the unusual details of this bloom. Will it bite your nose if you sniff it?

That is the strangest flower I have ever seen. It really does look like a bat's face. Is it fragrant? Does it make a seed pod?

When you come back you really come back, Jon! What a gallery of gorgeous tropical plants your cousin has in his garden.
I'm commenting on this beauty because it was my favorite photo and we Austinites have a thing for bats ;-]
